Shucks.
I was supposed to meet up with some college girlfriends tonight for a little Christmas get-together. In honor of this special occasion, Nick helped me whip up a dessert recipe that is always a big hit at his office. It's a giant bowl filled with layers of yellow cake, strawberries, raspberries, whipped cream and pudding, repeated over and over until the whole bowl is nearly overflowing.

Now there is an ice storm, so no one's going anywhere.

Looks like tonight it's just Nick, me, and a bowl filled with 20,000 calories of pure bliss.

Aw too bad the storm messed up your plans. But at least you got to hang out and feast with Nick, haha.

Woe and alas, for sure.

Sounds like an Aussie trifle. Did you soak the sponge in different kinds of alcohol?

YUM. :)

don't eat it all in one night. as someone who is currently living in the wreckage of the ice storm, you'll want all the food you can get your hands on that doesn't require cooking. and how lucky am I that my sister still has power and has agreed to let us spend the night?

I've had that before...yum!

At least you split the dessert with your husband, which I firmly believe makes having dessert okay.
